Additional Student Works

Updated: Dec 17, 2023

Here's a collection of all other student works that didn't make it into my main gallery, the projects are mostly intro projects or expand beyond UX design.

UMOJI- An intro UX project

Mid-Century Modern- A 3D & motions project (2018)

Notable Achievement(s):

Project Objective:

The objective is to create an engaging motion experience that can be used as a promotional and educational tool alongside the Denver Art Museum's "Serious Play: Design in Mid-Century America". Our object of focus was

assigned by chance.

Goals & Process:

When pre-producing the video, I went in with simplicity and sleekness in mind. Inspired by various technology and clothing promotion videos, I wanted the womb chair to be captured in an almost abstract and artistic way with moments of red flairs and dramatic closeups. The chair's minimalism and beautiful simplicity are further conveyed through a simple color palette of white, black and red: a color scheme popular in the 1950's when this chair was first introduced to the public

The womb chair was created to cradle every possible sitting position and was herald as a chair to evoke safety and being held "in the womb". Using music that mimicked the human heart and incorporating a human element to interact with the chair– I wanted to create a sense of "humanism" with the object and bring it to life. The red humanoid shows the possibility of the chair through the visual assumption of weight and acts as a conduit for the viewer, allowing the audience to implant

themselves into the video and into the chair.

Final Video & Display Material:

Music:  Mattia Cupelli – "Royalty"

3D model: TurboSquid

This informational poster was created by fellow students: Tiare Venuti and Libby Yi.

It was displayed alongside the video to provide informational context.

eMotions- An intro to branding & motions project (2018)

eMotion

Small Steps To A Healthier You

Project Objective:

To make a short ad video that utilizes data visualization to showcase the company, we were encouraged to create and develop a brand identity for the fictitious company: eMotion. To satisfy the requirements of a set number of data types, l thought It would be more appropriate to create a promo video that the company can use as a teaser for the daily activity tracker app.

Company Goals:

eMotion is a technology-based company that promotes a healthier and more active lifestyle through incremental changes. With the drive to create easy-to-use interfaces that both engages with the world and simplistic in its usability. "Trust, safety, loyalty, and love", is the business mantra that maintains the importance of the user over everything else. It's about the people who want to see more data and change the way they live their lives.

Logo Implementations & Ideation:

I wanted a dynamic feel for the eMotion logo. Exploring multiple avenues of abstraction of the 'em',and propelled figures both within a boundary box and outside. I decided that the simple 'em' typographic marking with an energetic 'e' was the best way to showcase the company's emphasis on technological simplicity.

Unified Imagery:

Using predominately scenic nature backgrounds in all promotional materials ties the company with a sense of tranquility and thus safety. Rather than using exercise-heavy images, using nature as a foreground to display the eMotion brand, further implements eMotion's belief that "health is incremental" and doesn't need to be this overly straining gym session.

Final Video:
